This was a cool autograph to get. I did not mail these to Blake either. About a month ago I looked through an old white pages book and found he had lived in the next town over so I gave the phone number a call and then while I was at school the following Monday I got a voice mail left on my phone and it was Blake's father, Pat who was a former minor league pitcher for the Dodgers and he said Blake does not live here anymore he has moved out to Colorado and lives there now but he told me in a few weeks he and his wife (Blake's mother) will be flying out to Colorado to give Blake a visit and they would be happy to take my cards out and get them signed. So I was lucky enough to be able to find all of these great pictures of Blake and if you can believe it I have about 10 more different ones I could use for cards he had a lot of photos of him he was kind of a big deal and I'll explain why later in this post. Well anyways if you follow my blog you know recently I went to meet former MLB Pitcher Sean Lawrence at Strikes Baseball University which you can read about here well that is actually where Blake's father works (Pat) and while I was there with Sean I gave a set of the customs of Blake to Pat one to get signed for me and one for him to have or give to Blake I plan on getting him more in the future. Well today I went to Strikes to get a pitching lesson with Scott Nelson to prepare for tryouts, Scott is a High School Alum and I made the trip to get his autograph you can read about that here and I thought I had a pretty good lesson I am working on mastering my curve ball right now. Well after my lesson ended I walked over to Pat's cage and he saw me and he ran out to his car and he gave me all of these cards back signed. They are super cool and came out great I sent my own blue Sharpie with him to get signed, Well here is some info on Blake: He had 3 seasons with 10 or more home runs including one season with 23 homers. In that season he was also picked for the Mets minor league player of the year over his minor league teammate David Wright. When he was presented his award it was given to him at Wrigley Field in his home town of Chicago. Well he is actually from River Forest but it is basically Chicago. He is an Alum of my High School like I said and is a really good autograph to get thanks to Blake for signing these and for Pat and his wife for getting these signed it is much appreciated. This is great!
